RADNOR, PA (April 2010) – Out of forty colleges and universities, Cabrini College was selected to perform the play The Laramie Project for its ten-year anniversary. Allied Pixel was given the task of shooting the video of the piece. Allied Pixel used a two-camera high-definition package, provided a projection screen, and provided all the technology to handle a webcast from New York City - the goal being to capture the play on video without being intrusive. Quite a feat considering the quick turn-around time involved. Allied Pixel was called in for rehearsal on a Sunday for a Monday performance, all without benefit of a customary technical rehearsal or normal prep time. The production posed further challenges for the AP crew in that each actor played multiple characters in the play. Soundman Jeff Cornell had to cover 12 live mikes, in addition to feeding house sound and crew. The job was successfully accomplished to the delight of Cabrini College. Cabrini was one of forty colleges that participated in a live webcast of the play.
