The CIO Institute is a regional support and networking group exclusive to senior
IT professionals that stimulates technological competencies through education, dialogue,
and mentoring. This elite group of CIOs, CTOs, VPs, Directors of IT, and independent
consultants who provide high level strategic consulting attracts the best and brightest
minds – locally, nationally and internationally – to discuss the latest technologies,
trends, and government initiatives.
Technology Forums
These monthly forums are designed to enhance technological competencies in a convenient
format. No sales pitches, just technology immersion with visiting world-class technologists.
Topics include disaster recovery and prevention, patent and intellectual property,
mobile computing, third-generation wireless, and IT security.
CIO Roundtables
CIO Roundtables provide an opportunity for CIO Institute members to ask tough questions
and get advice on challenging situations. Mentoring is conducted by a group of seasoned
technologists and business leaders who have “been there and done that.”
Peer-To-Peer Networking
The CIO Institute is the only regional organization for CIOs, CTOs, and their peers
to share and evaluate IT solutions and exchange ideas.
Exclusive Events
Members of the Institute are invited to participate in a variety of IT-centric conferences,
events, and initiatives.
Promotion
CIO Institute members have many opportunities to promote thought leadership. The
Eastern Technology Council's flagship publication, Technology Times, devotes a column
to technical articles by CIO Institute members and regularly profiles CIO Institute
members. Additionally, CIO Institute members can publish articles and help advise
editors of Real World Decision Support Journal, which reaches more than 28,000 IT
leaders.
Social Networking
CIO Institute members value the ability to network with their peers using new Web
2.0 tools. The Institute maintains active social networking and discussion forums
exclusively for its CIO members.
