Mentor Match

In today’s fast-paced and competitive business climate, emerging entrepreneurs and CEOs need to learn and grow. The Eastern Technology Council’s premier Mentor Match program links these new entrepreneurs with seasoned CEOs who are willing to listen, guide, and provide real-world advice. These Mentors are some of our region’s leading Technology and Life Sciences CEOs.

If you are an emerging Technology or Life Sciences Company (with revenues less than $1 million) and would like to participate, we invite you to meet our mentors and request a match. Once matched, it is up to you to schedule one-on-one time with your mentor to build and sustain the relationship.

Technology Times

The Eastern Technology Council publishes Technology Times, Greater Philadelphia’s only newspaper that exclusively covers our region’s technology and life sciences industries.

For more than 17 years, Technology Times has served as a valuable resource for business leaders. Published six times per year, it features the region’s hottest companies and entrepreneurs who are contributing to our region’s growth and vitality. Our expert columns offer practical business knowledge and cover the latest industry trends and issues that affect companies in the Greater Philadelphia region.

CIO Institute

The CIO Institute is a regional support and networking group exclusive to senior IT professionals that stimulates technological competencies through education, dialogue, and mentoring. This elite group of CIOs, CTOs, VPs, Directors of IT, and independent consultants who provide high level strategic consulting attracts the best and brightest minds – locally, nationally and internationally – to discuss the latest technologies, trends, and government initiatives.

Technology Forums

These monthly forums are designed to enhance technological competencies in a convenient format. No sales pitches, just technology immersion with visiting world-class technologists. Topics include disaster recovery and prevention, patent and intellectual property, mobile computing, third-generation wireless, and IT security.

CIO Roundtables

CIO Roundtables provide an opportunity for CIO Institute members to ask tough questions and get advice on challenging situations. Mentoring is conducted by a group of seasoned technologists and business leaders who have “been there and done that.”

Peer-To-Peer Networking

The CIO Institute is the only regional organization for CIOs, CTOs, and their peers to share and evaluate IT solutions and exchange ideas.

Members of the Institute are invited to participate in a variety of IT-centric conferences, events, and initiatives.

Promotion

CIO Institute members have many opportunities to promote thought leadership. The Eastern Technology Council's flagship publication, Technology Times, devotes a column to technical articles by CIO Institute members and regularly profiles CIO Institute members. Additionally, CIO Institute members can publish articles and help advise editors of Real World Decision Support Journal, which reaches more than 28,000 IT leaders.

Social Networking

CIO Institute members value the ability to network with their peers using new Web 2.0 tools. The Institute maintains active social networking and discussion forums exclusively for its CIO members.

CEO Roundtables

We understand that Technology and Life Sciences CEOs face specific business and industry issues that that other members do not. The Eastern Technology Council CEO Roundtables are exclusive events that allow you to meet and network with your industry peers. Every quarter, you can tap into the collective wisdom of other c-level executives on industry trends, issues, and entrepreneurship.

MedTech Group

Medical devices, instrumentation, and medical diagnostics companies are unlike other life sciences and technology companies. They have their own unique issues, regulations, and business environmental. The Eastern Technology Council’s MedTech Group provides a venue for these company executives to network and focus on educational programs unique to those markets.

Each quarter, the MedTech Group meets to discuss the latest trends, government initiatives, and other relevant topics—including “Safety and Quality Control” and “M&A Trends in the Device Industry.” This active group acts as a nexus to stimulate competencies through education, dialogue, and mentoring and to raise awareness of this region’s medical device expertise.

Twice a year, the Eastern Technology Council invites CEOs and other executives to a powerful breakfast presentation with a global industry powerhouse. Tech & Science Summits

Business development can be a challenge for even the largest companies. Sometimes the best opportunities are right in your own back yard.

Our Technology & Sciences Summits offer a structured avenue for larger companies to meet start-up and growth-stage innovators to pursue strategic relationships. We match the specific technology and science interests of our largest members to our emerging-growth and start-up stage members. Then we host a person-to-person summit, offering these participants to pursue business development and forge partnerships.

The Eastern Technology Council Women’s Leadership Networking Group enables women in the Technology and Life Sciences industries in the Greater Philadelphia region to connect, network, learn, and grow. We meet approximately four times a year times a year to focus on business issues for our industries as well as on professional and personal development.
