Computer forensics, also known as digital forensics, is a growing field that enables investigators to obtain information from electronic media - ranging from computers and cell phones/cameras to handheld personal electronics and gaming devices. Computer forensics experts trace and document Internet activity including email, instant messages and social networking sites.
Rising insider threat and computer crime capture headlines all over the world. Are you prepared to adequately respond to a data incident? When a digital investigation is imposed upon you or your staff, it is not the incident itself but rather the response that is most critical. This CIO Roundtable discussion looks at computer forensic incident “first responder” procedures, evidence collection and legal issues surrounding digital investigations today.
