Lawrence Alexander Named Legend

The Legend Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to honoree Lawrence D. Alexander, PhD, Director of Advanced Technology at Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services, at the Enterprise Awards gala. Alexander leads research and development in advanced information systems technology.

At Lockheed Martin, Alexander leads and coordinates the technology portfolio for an enterprise with $10B+ in revenue focused on the development of new products and services for the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, NASA, and the civil government marketplace. The portfolio includes distributed research programs across the US and UK and activities with 20 universities, leading IT vendors, and a number of global laboratories.

Over his career, Alexander has led research activities and the development of NASA remote sensing algorithms, digital to optical transceivers, a massively parallel supercomputer, fingerprint matching algorithms for the FBI, satellite command and control systems, information archives, and most recently, technology initiatives related to globalization and the future of the Internet.
