  • completed a $2.5 million follow-on investment in The Neat Company. MentorTech Ventures participated in the $2.75 million financing. Edison’s cumulative investment reached $15.5 million in this rapidly growing, late-stage enterprise. Neat, based in Philadelphia, offers user-friendly scanning software and hardware solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. NeatReceipts is a patented, multi-purpose scanning and digital filing system.
  • completed a $1.5 million follow-on investment in SellMyTimeshareNOW based in Dover, N.H. Cumulatively Edison has invested $10 million. SMTN is a leading online secondary marketplace for timeshares. The family of websites provides advertising tools and services to assist owners with sale or rental of their timeshare.

  • is re-branding the company by de-emphasizing the Fiberlink name and leading all corporate communications with its platform name, MaaS360. “MaaS” stands for Mobility as a Service and “360” represents the visibility and control of an enterprise’s mobile environment that the platform delivers from a cloud or Internet-based architecture.
  • won a 2010 CODiE Award in the Best Mobile Enterprise Solution category.

Hollister Creative
Wynnewood, Pa.

  • was honored in the 2010 APEX Awards for the design and content of Technology Times, an electronic publication Hollister produced on behalf of the Eastern Technology Council. The Council has since merged with Mid-Atlantic Capital Alliance to form the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT). Hollister Creative now produces PACT’s e-publication, imPACT Times.
  • won three awards in the 19th annual National Mature Media Awards competition. Two were general excellence awards for full issues of Milestones, the monthly newspaper Hollister produces on behalf of Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA). The other was for an article that appeared in Milestones.

  • reported that NewSpring Health Capital and NewSpring Mezzanine Capital, along with Camden Partners, provided a combination of equity and subordinated debt financing to MinSec Holdings, Inc., in Wallingford, Pa. MinSec is a privately held company that operates community corrections facilities, behavioral health treatment centers and outpatient programs for the treatment of chemical dependency and mental health disorders.
  • participated in an investment in LifeShield, Inc., through its growth equity fund, NewSpring Growth (formerly known as NewSpring Ventures). Headquartered in Yardley, Pa., LifeShield provides wireless home security and alarm monitoring systems.

  • appointed Andrew Stern Chief Executive Officer of SunGard Availability Services. Stern was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of USinternetworking Inc. (USi), an application service provider that was acquired by AT&T in 2006. Subsequently, he led AT&T’s hosting and application services business. Earlier in his career he was a Partner with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, an international management and technology consulting firm, and also was Executive Vice President, strategy and reinsurance operations, at insurer USF&G Corporation. Stern holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

  • achieved ISO 14001:2004 Certification. The green custom modular tradeshow exhibit manufacturer is the first North American company in its class to fulfill the requirements of the certification.

  • reported that the CampusCruiser LMS learning management system (formerly CourseCruiser LMS) and SunGard Higher Education’s Banner Student system and Luminis Platform can now be integrated through the Banner Integration for eLearning solution. The result is real-time integration and single sign-on access for the products.
  • reported that the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is implementing SunGard Higher Education DegreeWorks at all 26 of its two-year technical colleges. King Abdulaziz University, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, selected solutions from SunGard Higher Education, including Banner Digital Campus including Banner Student, Banner Financial Aid, Banner Advancement, Banner Workflow, Banner Operational Data Store and the Luminis Platform.
