Stephen M. Goodman, a Partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP, will be presented with the Legend Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 2011 Enterprise Awards Gala.
The black-tie Enterprise Awards will be held May 4, 2011, at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue.
Hosted by the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT), the event honors the region’s life science, technology and venture capital community.
Always popular, the gala is a hotbed of connecting and networking, from the cocktail hour, through dinner, to the after party.
The evening’s awards portion includes a combination of competitive categories and pre-announced honors. The competitive awards nomination process will begin in September.
Goodman an authority on emerging growth companies
Legend Award honoree Stephen M. Goodman is a partner in Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice and has been with the firm since 1994.
His practice, focused on corporate finance and acquisitions, is dedicated to fostering emerging growth companies in the region through direct work with clients and active involvement in the emerging growth community.
As strategic counsel to startups in the technology and life sciences sectors, Goodman identifies companies with potential and then takes them from conception through product development, growth and beyond. Some of the companies he has nurtured include CDnow, VerticalNet, ICG Commerce, AirClic, ExcelleRx and AANet.com.
Goodman has been consistently recognized by Chambers USA, an annual independent ranking of top lawyers, as an influential authority for his work with emerging growth companies. He is Co-Chair of his firm’s Global Emerging Technology and Life Sciences Practice and also is founder of the firm’s “Connect at Morgan Lewis” program, which brings together investors and entrepreneurs and guides clients through the process of refining their investor presentations through individual coaching sessions. Goodman is the longest-tenured member of the advisory board for the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Entrepreneurship Program. He also teaches “Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship” at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Law, his alma mater.
