PACT presents Oct. 5
cloud computing conference

On Tuesday, Oct. 5, Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) will offer a full-day summit of hands-on workshops, exhibits, breakout sessions and live demonstrations geared to Chief Information Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Security Officers and business leaders. The Next Generation Architecture Summit: Cloud Computing on the Rise will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Penn State Conference Center, in Malvern, Pa.

The breakout sessions will be presented by experts from a wide variety of industries who will discuss their cloud computing strategies and other topics.

Business Track sessions will include:

  • Cloud for Startups
  • Starting up new business concepts
  • Finance implications (CapEx./OpEx.)
  • Contracts with Cloud providers
  • Legal issues/Globalization/Intellectual Property
  • Financial Industry
  • Healthcare Industry Technology and Architecture Track sessions will include:
    • Public vs. Private vs. Hybrid Cloud
    • Security/Privacy
    • Architecture
    • Integration

The keynote speaker will be Judith Hurwitz. Hurwitz is the President and CEO of Hurwitz Associates, a strategy consulting and research firm focused on distributed computing technologies, and co-author of Cloud Computing for Dummies, Service Oriented Architecture for Dummies and Service Management for Dummies.

The list of other speakers is still growing and will include some of the biggest names in cloud computing, such as: Accenture, Amazon, Google, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce.com, SAP, SunGard and Unisys.

Attendees who register for the conference before September 1 will receive a discount. Early registration is $50/PACT Members or $100 / Non-members. Registration after September 1: $100/PACT Members and $150/Non-members.

PACT Members may also take advantage of a “buy one, get one free” admission; Member registrants who sign up together will receive an additional 50% savings on registration.
